E14 The Carbon Removal Leadership Act (CRLA)

In this special session of This Is CDR the OpenAir Advocacy team unboxes the collective’s newest and most ambitious legislative mission to date. The Carbon [Dioxide] Removal Leadership Act (CDLRA) is soon to be introduced legislation in New York and other states that, as law, would establish a transparent, standards-based and equitable carbon dioxide removal state procurement obligation. Such a program will ramp up investment in market-ready but early stage CDR solutions, helping accelerate cost reduction in the process through scale. The policy concept was conceived, researched, drafted and is now being advocated for by OpenAir members This overview is led by CRLA mission members Megha Raghavan, Toby Bryce and Chris Neidl, with special guest Assemblymember Patricia Fahy, the assembly sponsor of CLRA in New York. Campaigns in New York and other states are kicking off in late 2021. We need advocates everywhere, and anyone can contribute. Join our mission today! - https://openaircollective.cc/join/
