Teach-In: The Carbon Dioxide Removal Leadership Act (CDRLA)

The Carbon Dioxide Removal Leadership Act (CDRLA) is a legislative proposal developed and drafted by OpenAir members. The core policy, as law, would establish a state carbon dioxide removal procurement program designed to scale up and accelerate CDR deployment. The policy was originated for introduction in New York State, but can be adapted to other state, provincial and even national contexts.

In this teach-in OpenAir members Toby Bryce, Chris Neidl and Megha Raghavan cover the policy components of the CDRLA, and provide an overview of OpenAir CDRLA mission objectives in 2022.
